Meet Tomo

Licensed Massage Therapist & Reiki Master

Dedicated to Your Well-being

Tomo grew up in Japan where Eastern and Western Medical techniques helped her develop a balanced healthy lifestyle.

In 2004 at college, she worked with her school's sports teams and was educated by the athletic trainers to perform sports massage on the athletes.

In 2010, Tomo decided to pursue the art of healing full time. She graduated from the Maui School of Therapeutic Massage in 2011. Since then, she has trained in Swedish massage, reflexology, shiatsu and completed Thai massage teacher training.

After getting sidetracked with staring a family and running her own apple cider vinegar company for 8 years (with her husband) she decided to once again focus on her passion of healing. While dealing with her own health challenges she discovered Chi Nei Tsang massage, an internal organ massage with roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine. After she experienced how truly therapeutic, relaxing and uplifting it was, she was inspired to complete Chi Nei Tsang massage training in 2024 and her Reiki training in 2025.

She specializes in Thai massage and Chi Nei Tsang massage and loves sharing life changing experiences with her clients. When she is not in the massage room, she enjoys family time and being outdoors camping and hiking with her husband and son.

Fun Facts about

The Gut and Serotonin

Deep breathing and massage
enhance the connection

01

The Brain-Gut Connection

Your brain and your gut (gastrointestinal tract) talk to each other all the time through hormones and neurotransmitters. This is known as the gut-brain axis. There's a reason that people say, "Go with your gut!".

03

"Happy" starts in the Gut

Serotonin is made with Tryptophan (an essential amino acid from food) and the help of good gut bacteria.

95% of serotonin is made in the gut, but gut-derived serotonin won't be shared with the brain. Just 5% of serotonin is made in the brain.

02

"Feel-Good" Chemical

Serotonin is one of the neurotransmitters; it carries messages between nerve cells in the brain and throughout your body so you can feel, think and move.

Serotonin helps your body to balance your mood, sleep, waking, digestion, wound healing, etc.

04

Good Gut Bacteria

Your gut is home to the bacteria that are responsible for producing serotonin. Studies have found that several species of gut bacteria are missing in people with depression, and that imbalances in gut flora can lead to mood imbalances.

Chi Nei Tsang Massage will give the gut space to heal and relax, and the movements will activate and balance the gut flora. Your happiness begins in your gut!
